WHY I BUILT IT

The Hunter’s Almanac didn’t begin as a product. It began with my own mistakes, lessons learned the hard way, and things I knew … but didn’t always remember when I needed them.

I started writing those lessons down.

What began as a simple check sheet gradually became something more structured: preparation checks, field reminders, zeroing tools, decision prompts and post-shot protocols.Eventually, those notes became a system.

LESSONS LEARNED THE HARD WAY

One of my recurring mistakes has always been ridiculously simple:

“I forget to check the weather.”

I know better. I’ve always known better. But knowing something and remembering to act on it are two different things. And that became one of the ideas behind TerrainX.The cards aren’t there to tell experienced hunters how to hunt. They’re there to keep the things we already know from being forgotten, rushed or second-guessed when they matter.

WHEN HUNTING TIME IS LIMITED

For most of us, hunting trips aren’t every weekend.Months can pass between opportunities. When that next trip finally comes around, there are maps to study, terrain to understand, routes to plan, equipment to prepare and conditions to watch.

The Hunter’s Almanac gives you a system to lean on

Run through it before you leave. Keep it in your pack or bino harness. Pull out the cards you need in the field.

Spend less time trying to remember everything.
More time reading the terrain.

MORE THAN A REFERENCE SYSTEM

Some of the cards have another job.

The deck includes calibrated:

  • MOA (Minute of Angle) cards x3

  • MRAD (Milliradian) cards x3

Geometry for checking your rifle zero in the field.

If a rifle has taken a knock, been dropped, travelled a long way or you simply want reassurance before the hunt, the cards provide a known reference.

Use your rangefinder for accurate distance and place TerrainX target. Sight in. Instructions on the cards. No additional targets required.

AND IF NONE OF IT RESONATES…

Turn the deck over. There’s an orange X on the back of every card.

55 cards.
55 targets.

At the very least, you’ll get some target practice out of it.
